How it Happened

I was born and have lived in East Yorkshire virtually all of my life.

I had worked as a teacher for nine years when, in 1981, my husband, Paul, brought home a book from the library, and my fascination with quilling began.  Since then, I have taught Adult Education classes, several private weekly classes and have held workshops nationwide and abroad.

In 1982, Paul and I started a small business, making and selling paper strips and quilling materials.  I have written books and made videos showing quilling techniques and designs,  We sold the business in 2010 but I still design and create books and videos.

I was a founding member of the Quilling Guild, which was formed to promote and teach quilling, and I was made Honorary Vice President for contributions to quilling.

I have two daughters, Cate and Jo, who are, themselves, accomplished quillers, and am at my happiest at home, designing new ways to quill.
